aims & scope

Since 1994, it has become traditional each issue of Ezik i Literatura [Language and Literature] journal to include papers contributing to a central research topic in the fields of language, literature, and culture. This thematic organization of the issues of the journal is a specific feature of this academic periodical that distinguishes it from the other periodicals in humanities in Bulgaria. Our authors are both established scholars with serious contributions in philology and cultural studies and young promising linguists, literary historians and critiques, ethnologists, working in Bulgaria and abroad.

Considering its authors, editorial board and readers, Ezik i Literatura journal is a strictly academic edition with a broad profile that includes language structure, psycho- and sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, language history, narratology, poetics, hermeneutics, semiotics, language and mind, literary studies, ethnology, and others. The ambition of the editorial board is to avoid eclectically collection of papers, and rather by the means of thematic blocks, to inspire fruitful interdisciplinary debates among different spheres of research in humanities. One of the main lines of the editorial activity is to publish papers that track the latest theories and methodologies in humanities.

The intended public of the journal are university teachers, academic researchers and students in humanities, journalists, writers and culturologists.
